Stephen Svejnoha

I’m Stephen and I’m the Junior Organiser here at Todmorden Anglers. I have fished for 56 years. I'd best describe myself as a very keen pleasure angler. I obviously fish commercial carp ponds, but my first love is catching nets of silver fish & perch. I'm a good pole angler, I can tie elastics, floats and rigs up etc. I also enjoy waggler fishing, use the sliding float, feeder fish and stick float fish the rivers. I love fishing floating crust in the summer for carp too. I’ve won or come in the top five, 73 times in my match fishing career over the years but now I only fish matches for the social side and meeting other anglers. My main passion now is helping others get into fishing whether it be children or adults, no matter of their abilities or disabilities. I know now I have completed my Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Angling (L2CCA) and have the knowhow and abilities along with my child welfare and safeguarding, first aid certificates, full and clean DBS and full insurance through the Angling Trust. You can be rest assured, I’m the man for the job. I have access to two private ponds I have an interest in, in the Huddersfield area. I have tackle available if you want to have a go. E-mail or contact me on 07502033117. I have transport, so no problems in travelling.

Kev Hollick

I’ve been a keen angler for over 30 years ; I would class myself as an all-rounder but spend the majority of my angling time, mainly coarse fishing. I have competed in a few matches over the years but mainly pleasure fish now whether I’m on a local canal pole fishing for roach, on a pond fishing match style for a net of fish, or on the rivers feeder fishing for barbel and chub. Or searching for specimen carp on larger lakes home and abroad. So whatever you fancy a go at I can tailor a session to suit you or someone you may know who wants to get in to fishing, and provide all the tackle and bait that will be needed. I’m never happier than when I’m on the bank and want as many people to experience the joys of angling. So feel free to contact me ; either drop me an email at or a call or text at 07717363839 and I will get back to you to discuss your request.

Nick Noble

Angling is a true passion of mine and it has been my obsession for more than 20 years. The primitive thrill of the chase, tracking and stalking using watercraft and knowledge of the species is a level of enjoyment only surpassed when you've landed and returned your quarry for it to fight another day. Whether you're trotting for Grayling, searching for Pike in miles of canal networks or stalking seldom seen Carp in hundred acre Cheshire meres, angling will have an avenue to suit you. I'm an all round angler and can offer help with any style of coarse fishing on any body type of water. If you're new to angling, looking to hone your skills or wanting to come back to it after a break, sessions can be arranged to suit your requirements. Mark Smedley

My name is Mark Lee Smedley. I have gained a Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Angling (L2CCA) and I am currently a Senior Member of Burnley, Pendle and District Anglers Association; Todmorden Angling Society and Ryburn and Halifax Anglers. I have had many years experience of angling; Coarse, Game and Sea, and I thoroughly enjoy this variety of angling in the UK, due to the changing weather conditions we experience throughout the year. I started fishing with my father when I was only 7 years old and still remember sitting on the banks of the canals, lakes and reservoirs in and around Burnley and Pendle catching plenty of roach, perch, bream, tench, carp, pike, trout, gudgeon and the odd eel or two. Simple set-ups, simple baits and a carrier bag to sit on, kept me entertained for hours on end. The angling world has come a long way since then but I want to reinforce to people that fishing these days can still be just as simple and not as expensive as one may think. I am looking forward to sharing my wealth of knowledge and experience to others, both adult and child; beginner or expert. My L2CCA has provided me with recognised knowledge and understanding of the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching angling and an up-to-date recognised understanding of the safe, ethical and effective coaching of angling. I am a qualified primary school teacher and have been working mainly in Lancashire schools for the previous fifteen years. I am currently working as a ‘Senior Teacher’ for Lancashire County Council and I am planning to deliver angling coaching sessions to adults and children in the very near future. I am planning to work alongside other L2CCA coaches together with the support of the local Angling Clubs, Angling Trust, Headteachers and the Education Officer at Ribble Rivers Trust, Clitheroe, Lancashire. If you would like to discuss anything with me, please don’t hesitate to contact me on 01282 710119, 07908856092 or e-mail me at
