Canal at Clegg Hall

Postby POLECRUNCHER » Fri 23 Jul, 2010 6:30 am

While fishing on the Clegg Hall length the other day...a passer by was telling me about a couple of Polish guys who were caught fishing this stretch and removing prime roach for consumption...he told me that they were caught by one of our bailiffes..who confiscated there tackle and kicked them off the canal.....As I have,nt seen anything on the web-site I am asking if this was correct...and , if so , to say...WELL DONE to the person responsible.
Anyway...now that I have the time...I shall keep a watchfull eye out for dodgy going ons on this stretch.I had a great morning,s fishing last week...Bream...Tench...good roach...and lost a right zoo creature. great.

From the train crossing at Smithy Bridge walk along the canal towards Rochdale, after a small foot bridge the next section is known as Clegg Hall because, well, its alongside Clegg Hall.
