fished cliviger today and was quizzed by one of the resident twitchers about the club chopping some trees down in Royds Wood
any ideas . He said the item was in the Burnley Express.

Network Rail have been doing some tree work adjacent to thje railway in Royd Wood-a couple of trees fell on the railway in strong winds and they do not want it to happen again.

Fished top pond today for 41/2 hour's,10.30 - 3pm, (worst time of day), water temp was very very cold, hurt my fingers to mix my bait's !!!
Fished far side to the floating island (FLOATING)(yes it moves a bit) no bite's on pellet corn or paste. Maggot caught only.
Caught a few carp around a pound, a few ides 4oz to 10oz and a super roach about a pound. :)
Every time I caught a carp I had to switch swims because it knocked the bites off, so it was floating island / near bank / floating island / near bank etc etc etc. No ide on near bank.
Had no bites for the first hour, had to scale down to 2lb extra fine hook legnth and a size 20 fine wire hook, all on to a standard 8's elastic, so as you see, had almost to treat it like winter. Loose fed micro pellet and maggot little and often via pole pot left of the island (all my ide from here), used a heavier bated swim further right (not one bite).
Was really really impressed by the lack of weed, when ever I fished on the bottom, i never once got stuck on weed, Well done de-weeding people :).
Post feedback please, let me know how you got on :) .

fished bottom pond 1hr no bites but saw some huge carp, was convinced they were watching me !!
went on top pond, bottom of the step, had an ide of 3lb (give or take an ounce, cheap scales), this was followed
by the biggest perch i have ever caught, did not wiegh it but it was easy over 2lb, and gave no fight what so ever.
Also had a handfull of small ide and gudgeon, water was very very cold and fairly clear, so was really happy with what i caught.
Used double and treble maggot, over a bed of corn and no ground bait or pellet.
