About Ramsden Wood

Todmorden have fished the lodge since 1985 on a lease from Walsden Printing Company who used to draw water from the lodge to use in their manufacturing process.
The mill closed down and the site was acquired by Skipton Properties in
2002 for housing development-site then sold on to Elite Homes North West, then to Bovis Homes who now own the site.
The builders initially wanted to fill the lodge in-but a petition to the Council saved the water for future generations as a community facility.
Since aquiring the fishing lease Todmorden have improved the site over the years by installing fishing platforms, including a large disable friendly peg next to the car park and also a floating island to provide cover from predatory birds.
