Ramsden Wood
Ramsden Wood is a large dam located in a great setting among the hills and trees near Walsden.
Todmorden have fished the lodge since 1985 on a lease from Walsden Printing Company who used to draw water from the lodge to use in their manufacturing process.
The mill closed down and the site was acquired by Skipton Properties in 2002 for a housing development site and then sold on to Elite Homes North West, then to Bovis Homes who now own the site.
The builders initially wanted to fill the lodge in but a petition to the Council saved the water for future generations as a community facility.
Since acquiring the fishing lease Todmorden Angling Society have improved the site over the years by installing fishing platforms, including a large disable friendly peg next to the car park and also a floating island to provide cover from predatory birds.
